Arizona Weekend
First, let me start off by letting everyone know that Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has free WiFi. I am currently sitting at my gate, waiting for my plane. This is just one reason to visit the Phoenix area. Let me share some other reasons.
Friday night, Michelle and I started off at Olive and Ivy. This place is new, and it looks like it’s the new hot spot in Scottsdale. Like everything in Scottsdale, there is a high price tag, but we learned a trick. Ask for some bread to much on when you order drinks. It’s fancy bread with a goose egg for a price. That’s free for those of you that don’t get that phrase.
Saturday, we checked out Chuckbox, which has some of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted. It definitely emphasizes one of the reasons I like the Phoenix area so much. There are so many food places that haven’t turned into chains or haven’t been forced out of business by chain restaurants yet.
After lunch on Saturday, we went to Tempe Beach Park, where Tour de Fat was going on this weekend. Basically it’s a bunch of cyclists that are hippies that want to raise money for bike trails and want to get people out of cars and onto bikes. They had a bunch of funny looking bikes and some entertaining shows.
The Arizona State Fair was in town, so I went to check it out with Michelle and some of her friends. It’s amazing how every county or state fair attracts rednecks and Mexicans. We played games, ate fried stuff, and had a good time. Afterwards, we went to Odeen and Jenny’s apartment and played some classic N64 until the wee hours of the morning.
Here are some photos. Videos may follow in the next few days.

Chuckbox Guacamole Bacon Burger.

Does this count as running or cycling?

You can hear this bike coming a mile away.

1,300 lb gator.

I’d like to see the gator eat this.

Look at the nads on that pig!

In case you had any doubt about how big this pig is, here is Odeen standing behind it.

Trapped in the ropes of the Fun House.

Mexican wrestler masks were hot items at the fair.

What fair is complete without a ferris wheel?

I put my beer down long enough to win some fish.

Odeen shows us his cowboy junk.

Yum. Fried Stuff.

Deep Fried Oreos.

Something there is Deep Fried Coke.

What trip to visit Michelle is complete without pho?
