The Age of Aquarium!
In the past few weeks, based on conversations with my dad, and putting my beer down long enough to win goldfish at the Arizona State Fair, I have decided to start an aquarium. In fact, this past weekend I went to the local pet store and I bought this 10-gallon setup.

There are no fish yet. I am letting the water settle and grow the natural bacteria. For the least amount of maintenance, I went with a freshwater setup. I haven’t selected fish yet, but I believe I will go with colorful, small fish that are extra tough so they can live with my neglect. Does anyone have any recommendations for fish or tips to give me on taking care of fish? I was thinking about a few Mollies and a handful of Fancy Guppies. My family friend said it’s only a matter of time until I have a 150-gallon tank with pirahnas like him. Then I will be buying goldfish for food, not for raising.

I’d offer suggestions, but all the fish and frogs we had at Barrington committed suicide one by one.
Maybe they heard it was sushi night.

psst… saltwater tanks are much less maintenance (at least with the berlin method) ;) just more money.

The Berlin method? You mean the one, where you round up all the fish that aren’t the supreme clean species, and then put them in another tank? I wonder if there is a Berlin method equivalent for freshwater fish.
