Am I disappointed? A loss is always disappointing. I am still impressed with the Bruins and the way they played. It’s tough coming against a team you lost against the previous year. On top of that, the Bruins played against a team that brought back its top seven scorers.
I was particularly impressed with Josh Shipp’s performance in the game. He proved himself to be a useful scoring tool for the Bruins. Unfortunately with Afflalo, Mata, and Mbah a Moute all in foul trouble so early in the game, it really hurt the Bruins. The Bruins’ defense is heavily based on hedging, and the officials weren’t allowing physical basketball to be played.

Let me first start off by declaring my heterosexuality. I do not watch American Idol. For those of you that do watch American Idol, you’re probably scratching your heads and wondering why that one guy doesn’t get kicked off of the show. Here is your answer. Vote for the Worst! Yes, I know this is a blow to the reality television world, but it’s brilliant. If this guy wins the competition, I wonder how American Idol is going to handle the record deal. They know no one will buy the record. I’m sure they will reserve the right to toss this guy by the wayside. At the very least it’s a great social experiment. Down with “Reality” Television!
Before you get all excited, it’s not what you’re thinking. I asked one of the users in the fish forums to send me some Duckweed for my goldfish. It’s a neat little plant that consists of just floating leaves that clean up fish waste and also serve as a snack for the fish. I can’t wait to get this stuff home!

I know I have readers, and I know some of you by name because of comments, but I’m curious who the rest of you are out there. I have done this before, but it’s time for another role call. Please leave a comment for me if you read my website. Leave your name or nickname, and if I don’t know you personally, let me know how you stumbled across this website. Thanks, everyone.
In the mean time, amuse yourself with this.

As I drove to work today in my rental Chrysler Sebring, it is no surprise Daimler is trying to get rid of them. While the car is a vast improvement on American cars I have driven in the past, the focus is in all the wrong places. Listening to Wagner’s Flight of the Valkeralkyries on Sirius Satellite Radio through Boston Accoustic speakers and singing, “Kill the Wabbit,” they still have a car that drives like ass and looks like ass. While cars of the future may be about entertaining and less about the driving, we are nowhere near that. Get a clue and make a car that doesn’t suck.
Well we’re down to the Final Four. Really, that is all you can ask for in a college basketball program. March Madness used to be a complete crapshoot. Anyone could take it in the tournament, but now with the NBA rule, kids can’t go pro right out of high school. This means that kids that are good enough to play pro ball are forced to go to college for a year, and they end up at schools with big basketball programs. There will be fewer Cinderella stories and fewer upsets.

This weekend was Bruce and Nicole’s wedding. The ceremony was in Redondo Beach, and that is about all I remember. I went home after the ceremony, watched the end of the first half of the UCLA game (Go Bruins!), and then headed down to Trump for the reception. The rest of the night was a blur.

For those of you that have been watching the tournament this year, it has been some incredible basketball. Teams are performing very well. Just yesterday’s games were intense with 3 out of 4 games coming down to the last seconds. It was raining 3’s, and blocks were everywhere.
I have been very pleased with UCLA’s performance in the tournament. They’re not the highest scoring team, but they know how to put a stop to the other high scoring teams. Even though it seems contradictory to what a Bruin should want, I am secretly rooting for USC and Oregon. Why would I do this? I want PAC-10 money. When UCLA beat USC in football this year, they cost the PAC-10 a whole lot of money by taking the championship away from a PAC-10 team. That was totally worth it though.

I know Apple has a grip on the digital music industry, and it even has television shows and movies that you can download for a small price in its iTunes Music Store. I personally stay clear of these, because I don’t believe in paying for music or video with DRM restrictions. For the masses, Apple has set up their iTunes Music Store to be almost synonymous with multimedia downloads, but what else does it have for the rest of us? Well, just for kicks today, I decided to take a look at the iTunes Music Store to see what else Apple has up its sleeve with the shipping of the Apple TV starting today. The WSJ’s review on it is here.

Just a quick glance into the Podcast section of the store revealed lots of free content. Not only is the content free, but it is also good content. I am not just talking about amateurs submitting their views on life or videos of themselves lip syncing to the latest pop songs. These are full videos and audio from major publishers and major networks. Everyone should take a look if they have a chance. Couple the free content in the iTunes Music Store with an iPod and a long drive somewhere, and you’ve got your books on tape. If you even want to watch a video on the road, I won’t judge you. Just stay away from me.

Back in college, I was dating this girl, and she called me on the phone one day. I must have been playing on my computer or something, because I wasn’t paying attention, and she was probably just thinking I was a good listener. She must have been telling me something that was important to her, because when she was done talking, I responded with, “Okay,” and then she got really upset about how I could respond so casually about something so important. Again, I wasn’t paying attention to her at all, so I had to think fast. I pulled some explanation out of my ass about how it wasn’t that I didn’t care, but rather I didn’t want to affect her decision making process, and that’s why my response was so neutral. It must have sounded reasonable, because she bought it. To this day I have no idea what the conversation was about.
The moral of the story is listen when people are talking to you the answer to everything is that you care too much.
This weekend I helped paint Michelle’s room. It’s a great workout, but it’s quite a strain on the neck to pain the ceiling. It’s a good thing the carpet is going to be replaced as well, because painting a ceiling is damn near impossible without dropping paint onto the floor.
