Desiree: i’m going to beat you in tennis
m@: i dont play tennis. thats like me saying im going to beat you at peeing while standing up.
Desiree: i could beat you at that too
I don’t even know what to say to this. Very classy. Well, I better get to some intense training if I am to beat Desiree at these events, especially that second one.
I’m sure you are all tired of me talking about fish. I don’t care. I have been interested in a group of fish called Plecos. The common Pleco is a black fish with a little color variation, and it is quite ugly. It is a suckermouth catfish, and the common ones can grow quite large, up to 24″ in length. They look like sea monsters. Walk into any fish store and you can see them everywhere. These are not what I have been fascinated with as of late. These ugly fish also come in more brilliant appearances. What I have been enamored with is the distinct patterns and sharp contrasting colors. I found some pictures to show you all.

Saturday night I went to see Ratatouille with Alice and Michelle. Apparently Alice knows people. She got us into the movie for free, and we got snacks too. Considering what current movie ticket prices and concession stand prices, that was probably fifty bucks in goodies. The movie was good, but it’s not a memorable classic.
I got some of the plants that were removed from Steve’s tank this weekend. Free plants are always a great find. I planted them in my tank and now my tank has become an underwater jungle. In order to keep up with the food needs for the plants, I have added a few more fish to the tank to increase the bioload.

Every day after work, I take the carpool lane onramp on the freeway. If I am with my dad we do it legally. If I am driving alone, I take it anyway. I figure I save about five minutes each day, and the chances of getting a ticket are slim. There is no room to spot me once I am on the freeway, because of the way the onramp curves. Unless the officer is behind me, I am home free. A quick check of my mirrors each time before getting onto the freeway keeps the road rage down quite a bit. Don’t get me wrong here. I know I am breaking the law, and if I get pulled over, I completely deserve the ticket.
So now you know a little bit about something I do during a work day, but that’s probably about all you know. That is why I decided to create a photo entry of my day. I carried my camera in my pocket through the entire day and tried to snap pictures every thirty minutes or so, giving you an image of a day in my life. No matter where I was, I snapped a picture.

There is no doubt that I am a very fortunate person when it comes to my socio-economic status. It is something I have not had to work for in the slightest, something that my parents worked hard to provide for me. That being said, I want more. I want to be filthy, stinking rich. Two out of three does not cut it.
Why do I want to be rich? This is not some way to prove to other people that I am successful. I already believe that I am successful, although it does not show itself in the form of money. I want to be rich, because while it does not buy happiness, it does afford more time to enjoy oneself and take on endeavors that make me happy. I’m not talking about not working and lying by the pool each day. I want to work, but needing to work for a paycheck takes away a lot of the creativity and enjoyment in a job.

This weekend was a great weekend to see some people I haven’t seen in a while, have a few drinks with friends, eat two Korean food trends in one night, play some Wii, and get some new aquarium occupants.

Normally I write about things people have invented and created that people shouldn’t use, things like the Waste of Time Checklist and the Crazy Cat Lady Figurine. That checklist game might be fun. Does anyone want to play that with me one day? I digress. Today I choose to write about useful gadgets, inventions, and general creations that may prove useful in the real world.
While this first one isn’t created just yet, the patent is already filed and it’s a good one. Tom Tom has filed for a patent for a camera based GPS unit. This can prove quite useful when wandering around unfamiliar streets, especially when so many roads are so close together. Although I do wonder if people are going to be watching this thing instead of the road. That may prove a bit dangerous.

America has celebrated yet another birthday. What better way to celebrate independence than with fireworks? There is something so magical about things that are explosive. It causes amazement in children, and it even causes grown men to blow off pieces of their hands. I wish I had a steadier hand and a better camera, but this was all I could manage to get together.

This weekend was set aside to do nothing. It turned out to be a great weekend, even though I did end up doing quite a bit. I did some work, played a lot of Nintendo DS, spent some time by the pool, took care of the fish tanks, gave myself a haircut, and even grew some dinosaurs. Some of you are thinking, “Did he just write what I think he did?” Yup! I did say Nintendo DS.
