About This Site...

This website has gone through many revisions since college but always maintained a spirit of fun. This is where I get to speak my mind, as a child would, spilling my thoughts without filtering them. I'm not likely to say anything profound or moving, but hopefully someone gets some entertainment value out of my ramblings.

About Me...

I'm just your average working class male, although I've held the title Boyfriend of the Year for many years running, and even received the self-assigned title of World's Strongest Billionaire. I enjoy good beer, good food, and good company.

When I Grow Up…

Lately I have been feeling run down with work. It makes me feel rather old. After a long day at work, I don’t want to do much. It made me start thinking about stories of my parents when they were my age and how they seemed a lot more fun than myself.

At this age, my parents and all their friends were just starting to get married. I’m not saying that I want to be married like my parents, but there is something they did for fun to all the newlyweds. Being people with little money, their honeymoons were spent in nice hotels in the area. They formed what they called The Honeymoon Committee. The Honeymoon Committee’s job was to keep the party going after the reception.

Fishtastic

‘m going to need everyone to stay calm. PetCo is having a sale through this weekend on glass fish tanks. The price is $1.00 per gallon for tank 20-55 gallons! It is time for everyone to get a fish tank. I upgraded my 10-gallon tank to a 20-gallon. It’s kind of empty as there is a lot more room for the crayfish, but I also decided to add some Guppies. I need to decorate it and add some plants to fill it in a bit.

Mental Note

Get rich.

Also, how do they keep enrollment up in Colombian schools? I would drop out so fast if I had to take this bus to school.

Online Social Networking

I loathe online social networks, yet I am strangely reluctant to leave them. I haven’t stumbled across a single piece of content on these sites that has made me think, “Wow, that was cool. I’m glad I ran across that.” At the same time, I am afraid that despite its poor track record, one of these sites will create an online revolution that I will miss out on if I am not a part of them. So far, that has not happened.

I have been impressed with the brilliance behind these social networking sites in their marketability. By giving people the ability to group themselves up, it’s almost as if they have herded themselves up into a big bullseye for advertisers to hit. Look, it’s the “People who love cell phones” group! That has to be a gold mine for AT&T and the like.

A Classic Internet Find

I ran across this picture today of the worst book cover in the world.

It reminded me of the time I stumbled upon the worst logo in the world.

Superbad? Nope. Supergood! Maybe Superdrunk.

This Friday I went to see Superbad. We started out at Ra Sushi, which is located right beneath the theater at the mall. There were good food and drinks for all. We decided that to watch a movie of such high caliber, we would need to do sake bombs beforehand. We did a couple bombs, headed up to the theater, but all the seats were taken. Being the smart people we are, we decided to trade our tickets for the later show and do some more sake bombs. I recommend this movie for anyone that loves a vulgar, raunchy comedy. It definitely wins funniest movie of the summer.

Too Immature for Work

I’ve only laughed out loud inappropriately one time at work, because a certain doctor friend of mine told me a hilarious story. That is surprising considering the sexually suggesting terminology in my line of work. Allow me to share some of the things that I have had to adjust to in my work.

When you gather piping together for a customer it’s called pulling pipe. At my work, we are constantly pulling pipe.

Too Much of a Good Thing

I called it. It’s currently happening to USC. They’re slowly losing their ability to recruit the best players. It is not because of a lack of a good football program. Simply put, they have more good players than they know what to do with on their team. The kids are finally realizing that when they sit behind half a dozen running backs, they are not going to get to play. They are slowly transferring to other school’s in spite of having to lose a year of eligibility.

This is not USC’s fault. They accept players not knowing who will decide to attend their school. It’s the players’ faults for being stupid. It doesn’t matter how good the program is if you don’t get to play.

With Each Passing Day, My Hatred Grows

It’s been about a month since I have had to switch to Windows for work. Every day I run into something new about Windows that slows me down in my work. Coupled with the ugly form factors of the computers themselves, I get very frustrated at work. I have even switched from Microsoft Office to Open Office, because I am so fed up with Microsoft.

My latest frustration is now with Microsoft’s very own Virtual Desktop Manager. The point of a virtual desktop is to create a workspace, where your windows can reside so they don’t clutter other workspaces. Microsoft does not get this at all. If I place a window into one virtual desktop and click on its taskbar button, I can still pull it over to a different virtual desktop. Why?! I put the window apart from my current workspace so I can’t accidentally cover what I am currently working on at the time! It’s like piling papers on top of something you’re currently doing.

Back to So Cal From No Cal

This weekend was a trip to visit my brother. I probably should have made it more clear to Michelle that my brother lives in Union City, which is like Torrance but without Iccho’s, Killian’s, Ra Sushi, or Lucky Strike. The weekend consisted of visiting wedding sites, eating great food, and playing a lot of Wii.
