About This Site...

This website has gone through many revisions since college but always maintained a spirit of fun. This is where I get to speak my mind, as a child would, spilling my thoughts without filtering them. I'm not likely to say anything profound or moving, but hopefully someone gets some entertainment value out of my ramblings.

About Me...

I'm just your average working class male, although I've held the title Boyfriend of the Year for many years running, and even received the self-assigned title of World's Strongest Billionaire. I enjoy good beer, good food, and good company.

Fixed the Theme

Good news, everybody. I fixed my layout so the images fit into the column. Actually I just adjusted the style sheet to reduce the width of the main content, leaving me plenty of room to enlarge a third side column. That’s all. You can go back to your daily business and rest knowing that my site is running okay.

Time to Move

Well Escrow is officially closed. I stopped by the house today to check in on it. Things are ready for my move this weekend. I’ll miss my old house with all its problems.

Living Like a Refugee

The past two Sundays I have slept on a mattress on the floor at Kyung’s place so I don’t have to make a 2.5 hour drive to Thousand Oaks for an energy assessment survey. Tonight will hopefully be the last night that I have to do this. The scope of this project is just a lot larger than the customer thought.

It hasn’t been all bad. I’ve gotten a glimpse at the obsessive compulsive life that is Kyung’s once again. It’s no wonder he isn’t done with school. He keeps getting interrupted with dirty dishes and counters that need to be wiped down. Actually, there is very little conversing going on between us. We sit on our computers and listen to whatever strange music he has in his iTunes collection. We had a good laugh when Falco’s “Rock Me Amadeus” came blasting out of the speakers.

Extreme Web Makeover

I decided it was time to change the look of my website. The Apple look was nice, but change is nice too. This theme organizes some of the basic navigation functionality on the top of the design. I am all set, except for one minor glitch. I can’t figure out how to get my Picasa gallery feed to fit into the sidebar. Fortunately it’s on the far right side and doesn’t interfere with any of the content. I’m using this plugin if anyone has any code experience and wants to dive into it. Let me know what you think.

This Kid Puts Me to Shame

For all of you that think you know your rock history, it is incomplete without knowing the history and the catalog of The Beatles. Here is a kid that is quite young and doesn’t even speak English. Yet somehow he manages to sing one of the classics.

Strange Dream

I hardly ever remember dreams, and when I do, they do not generally stray too far from my normal everyday activities. I will remember a dream every six months or so, and most of the time it will involve waving hello to a friend. That is it. Pretty boring, huh?

Last night I had a dream that I actually remember. For some reason, I was the owner of four Tree Frogs. I had a hard time wrangling them up as they kept trying to jump out of their container. I distinctly remember them crawling over my scrubs as they made their escape.

Blast From the Internet Past

As promised I dug through some of my old CDs that I burned in college. It was great finding tons of music videos. What is amazing is the low quality some of these videos. I remember them taking up half of my screen when I was in school. I must have been running a 600-pixel resolution or something, because these videos are tiny on my computer now.

These three videos I dug up are Japanese commercials for a well known athletics gear company. Although these are old and not American commercials, I’d rather not receive take down notices from YouTube. I found these through my Japanese roommate, who was really into Japanese pop culture. He would wake up at 4:00 AM once a week to listen to a Japanese radio show that streamed live over the Internet. He said all three of these videos had famous Japanese rappers do the music.

Who Stole My Stolen Cable?

In the past two weeks I have been without most of my precious cable channels. I can only assume that someone working on the cable noticed that we were getting more channels than we receive a bill for every month. Rather than try to fix it and risk getting in trouble, I will leave it. We will close escrow in a week, and I will have to get used to paying for digital cable anyway.

Up North Wedding Weekend

This weekend was my brother’s wedding. We went up to northern California for the wedding.
