About This Site...

This website has gone through many revisions since college but always maintained a spirit of fun. This is where I get to speak my mind, as a child would, spilling my thoughts without filtering them. I'm not likely to say anything profound or moving, but hopefully someone gets some entertainment value out of my ramblings.

About Me...

I'm just your average working class male, although I've held the title Boyfriend of the Year for many years running, and even received the self-assigned title of World's Strongest Billionaire. I enjoy good beer, good food, and good company.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

I’m sure you are all tired of me talking about fish. I don’t care. I have been interested in a group of fish called Plecos. The common Pleco is a black fish with a little color variation, and it is quite ugly. It is a suckermouth catfish, and the common ones can grow quite large, up to 24″ in length. They look like sea monsters. Walk into any fish store and you can see them everywhere. These are not what I have been fascinated with as of late. These ugly fish also come in more brilliant appearances. What I have been enamored with is the distinct patterns and sharp contrasting colors. I found some pictures to show you all.

Ratatouille with a Side of Fish

Saturday night I went to see Ratatouille with Alice and Michelle. Apparently Alice knows people. She got us into the movie for free, and we got snacks too. Considering what current movie ticket prices and concession stand prices, that was probably fifty bucks in goodies. The movie was good, but it’s not a memorable classic.

I got some of the plants that were removed from Steve’s tank this weekend. Free plants are always a great find. I planted them in my tank and now my tank has become an underwater jungle. In order to keep up with the food needs for the plants, I have added a few more fish to the tank to increase the bioload.

Wii-kend Fun

This weekend was a great weekend to see some people I haven’t seen in a while, have a few drinks with friends, eat two Korean food trends in one night, play some Wii, and get some new aquarium occupants.

Weekend Relaxation

This weekend was set aside to do nothing. It turned out to be a great weekend, even though I did end up doing quite a bit. I did some work, played a lot of Nintendo DS, spent some time by the pool, took care of the fish tanks, gave myself a haircut, and even grew some dinosaurs. Some of you are thinking, “Did he just write what I think he did?” Yup! I did say Nintendo DS.

Flowers in Summer Bloom

I got a pair of Ryukin Goldfish today for my outdoor fish barrel. When I got home to drop them in, I saw that my water lily has its first flower that has bloomed. This makes me happy. I’m not someone with a green thumb, but there’s something relaxing about being able to grow living things. Keeping fish and plants together is doubly satisfying.

Randumb Thoughts

I didn’t think much of it when Apple first announced the iPhone. I’m not a huge cell phone nerd like a certain medical professional friend of mine. When I started seeing the commercials, they made me want the phone. The interface just looks so smooth. I want to see just how well Apple implemented the GUI. I just hope the phone doesn’t end up being like most touch-screen devices.

Just because I say I want one of these things doesn’t mean I will get one. Really, I want one but only for about two days to play with it before I get bored with it, like most of my gift list. Maybe I should add a Jumbo Margarita Maker to the list. That’s always useful, because think of all the frustration of waiting over a minute for a drink.

Moving Pictures

Couldn’t an easier song have been selected for me? I don’t know what I said at the beginning, but I think it was a death threat to whoever signed me up for singing against my will.

More Fishy Goodness

I got some new lighting for my large tank. They are designed to emulate natural sunlight for plant growth. I don’t have a picture of that yet, but the light fixture comes with moon lighting as well. It looks pretty cool and when these lights are on with the room lights off, the fish are completely unaware anything else is going on in the room. Most of the fish float in sleep, while the nocturnal fish rummage the bottom for food.

Just Some Aquarium Photos

I just wanted to let you all know that I still have the uncool hobby of keeping an aquarium. Down deep, I know all the guys are jealous and all the girls are all turned on by my fish tank.

From the Archives of Useless Crap…Or Is It?

Yesterday I wrote about releasing yourself from technology’s USB powered grip. Here is yet another reason that lets you know you are tethered to technology. Someone has gone to the trouble of inventing a USB charger, which runs on the energy from the expansion of your torso while breathing. The good news is that if you find yourself being owned by technology, technology has even provided a way out. You can do yourself in with the USB Doomsday Device.

The good news is that there are some useful inventions out there. For those of you that love surfing but hate the tiny waves we get on most of California’s coast, someone has invtented a surfboard that never loses its wave. That’s pretty ingenius, but I’m sure it costs a pretty penny. You can always keep it safe behind your very own laser wall.
