Perks of the Industry

Written by m@ on May 1, 2008 – 3:39 pm

People in the entertainment industry get to meet celebrities and go to big Hollywood events and get free DVDs. People in the record industry get to go to concerts and grab free CDs. What do I get? Well, I can do anything plumbing related pretty inexpensively, but there’s much better things than that. We work with a lot of food companies, and when you get them out of a bind, they reward you with product.

Back in the States, Part 3

Written by m@ on April 2, 2008 – 12:30 am

The last full day of our trip, Michelle and I split off from my parents and their friends to do some of the things our friends told us to do that were not a normal list of tourist attractions. It was probably our most adventurous day, not being able to rely on my parents’ friends to speak and translate for us.

Back in the States, Part 2

Written by m@ on April 1, 2008 – 2:05 pm

The next was spent wandering around the city to see some sites and gorging ourselves on some more questionable food items, just like a city trip to New York would be like.

Back in the States, Part 1

Written by m@ on March 30, 2008 – 11:24 pm

I’m back and jet lagged. I have lots of stories to tell, but as not to completely waste your day away, I will break things down into a couple, more manageable posts. They’re still going to be long, so don’t start unless you’ve got some time to kill.

This trip was planned originally, because of my brother. He got married a month ago, and his in-laws live in Taipei. Well, a dinner reception was planned for him. I figured I might as well make a trip of it and invited Michelle along to experience Taiwan.

Deep Seeded Issues

Written by m@ on February 3, 2008 – 11:04 pm

There are some things going on with Michelle and myself currently, relationship issues. She denies it, but I think it resulted in the poking of my eye in the middle of the night. Fortunately, like most people, I sleep with my eyes closed, but damn that hurt. Yes, the violence continues. She says things are fine, but yet I keep getting attacked. I must have made her so mad that she’s buried it in her subconscious, and it manifests itself in half conscious aggression.

I think this all stems from the fact that Michelle hasn’t completely gotten over one of her loves. She is having a love affair with pho. It’s quite obvious that she is thinking of pho when she is with me. I even found the local pho restaurant hidden in her phone, filed simply under the letter P. Her Facebook profile picture is of her, eating pho. It doesn’t matter if she’s had pho twice during the week. She can’t get enough. I think professional counseling is in order for us to work out our food differences.

Well I tried it, and it works. Ask for the “really big burrito” on your next faxed in order.

Blow Torches and Bowling Balls

Written by m@ on November 11, 2007 – 11:10 pm

Michelle’s birthday has come and gone. She is officially an adult. There is no better way to celebrate such an occasion than with good food, plenty of drinks, and bowling. Lots of pictures to follow after the break.

Dining Adventures

Written by m@ on October 7, 2007 – 8:08 pm

Michelle and I have decided we want to do more things together, one of them being trying new restaurants. We don’t want to just try new restaurants, but we want to try new restaurants with foods we may not have tried before. This weekend the arrow landed on Gaja Moc. They are famous for their Okonomiyaki, a Japanese pancake made from anything and everything. It’s a nice departure from the standard sushi and udon. You also have the choice to cook in front of you if you’d like.
