I started my day off visiting a customer with my dad, so I didn’t take my normal route to work. I went straight down Crenshaw, and the whole time he kept saying we should have taken the freeway. I couldn’t figure out why the traffic was so slow until I saw this.

Fishing - There are plenty of good lakes to fish within a two-hour drive. I can get my old poles and equipment from my uncle. I might even take a day off to go fishing this summer.

Jet Skiing - I’ve done this once, but Michelle brought up the idea. Let’s go jet skiing. You can rent these bad boys right in Redondo Beach. It’s a lot of fun for a day.

Build Above Ground Pond w/ Hydroponics Filter - My hobby of fish keeping has not slowed, much to the chagrin of my girlfriend. I want to build one of these above ground pond boxes and create a biological filter that will grow plants while keeping the water clean for the fish. If anyone has mechanical skills, a bench saw, and a nail gun, you’re more than welcome to help me out.

Brew Beer - It’s been long enough. It’s time to brew my beer. Look what magically appeared on the list!

That’s a pretty good start to my list. I’m sure I’ll think of more things I want to do, but I want the list to be manageable with reachable goals. I’ve already got a photography class and a couple baseball games on the list of things to do.

The man who marketed this product is a genius. What is it? It’s masking tape, but it’s colored blue, on a smaller roll, and is not as sticky. It takes less glue and paper to make this product, which means it costs less to produce, but it can be sold at a premium because it’s just for a niche market. Brilliant!

Today was a horrible traffic day, which meant it was a particularly good day for accident photo opportunities. There must have been a big pileup on the opposite side of the freeway, because the 91 was turned into a parking lot for a while. There were fifteen squad cars on each side of the divider. By the time I got there, everything was pretty much cleared except for the law enforcement officers themselves.

The point of this sale was to make some cash while having other people take away some of the items that were going to end up in the trash eventually anyway. It just sucked having to move bookshelves in the sweltering heat. Things went well, and we made a fair amount of money. I even kept a few choice items for myself and a couple special treats for the rest of you. Here is one of my finds.

Although it seemed kind of crazy grabbing this suede jacket in 100 degree weather, I just had to grab it. You can bet when winter comes along I’ll be rocking this bad boy. My mom said, “I think Dad used to wear that when we first started dating.” My thought was, “And yet you still married him.”

I was going to get this cake for my birthday, but it seemed to be a cultural mismatch. At first I was offended until I turned the page and saw a cake that suited me. It was called, “Greatest Mathematics Theorist.” The craftsmanship on the cake is incredible, right down to the little abacus.

They have crosswalk buttons specifically for people on their horses. The could have at least designed a  button with a logo of a man on a horse. Rich people are so lazy.

These bring back so many memories. If the house wasn’t already a mess, and I didn’t fear my mom, I would break these bad boys open and start playing in the living room.

The icing on the cake. The Millennium Falcon. My brother and I were pretty spoiled, because even though the box says, ACTION FIGURES SOLD SEPARATELY, we had all of those as well.

Not everything growing up was nerdy. I was also a star athlete.
