About This Site...

This website has gone through many revisions since college but always maintained a spirit of fun. This is where I get to speak my mind, as a child would, spilling my thoughts without filtering them. I'm not likely to say anything profound or moving, but hopefully someone gets some entertainment value out of my ramblings.

About Me...

I'm just your average working class male, although I've held the title Boyfriend of the Year for many years running, and even received the self-assigned title of World's Strongest Billionaire. I enjoy good beer, good food, and good company.

I Promised Pictures…

I was so tempted to pull these levers to see what happens.

Busy Weekend #1

Well, the busy month of June is in effect. Here is the recap. Pictures will follow.

Friday, I spent the day working at a hospital. I walked through the trauma center. It’s pretty boring, just a bunch of people standing around and holding their bleedings wounds. I did get to see the side of the hospital that a lot of people don’t get to see though.

Afterwards I went to Kyung’s place for his “House Cooling Party.” It’s pretty ingenious. You have housewarming parties to get things to furnish your place. Then when you want to throw away crap you don’t want to pack, you invite people over and force them to take something with them. We watch Star Wars, played Wii Fit, and Rock Band while drinking Mojitos and Jello shots with far too much alcohol that Kyung was trying to dispense with before his move.

Bowling, The Musical

This weekend was jam packed with fun. I didn’t get to finish all my work I took home, but that is the sign of a truly fun weekend I suppose. There are tons of pictures, so stay with me.

Friday started out with happy hour at Ra. Michelle was already there with her work, and they were drinking their fair share as usual. I met up with Randall, Vicky, Fred, and some of Randall’s medical colleagues. After that Michelle and I headed to El Cid to watch a show for her work. We say Big Phony, who of course is Korean. That guy is super nice, offering to get my money back because I came with Michelle for her work, and when the bouncer was busy he was trying to fork out some cash from his own wallet. I’m glad I didn’t take it, because during his set he kept talking about how poor he was, doing the Master Cleanse because he was too poor to eat. He’s a pretty talented guy, and you should check him out if you’re into music from the Juno Soundtrack.

Heineken Mini Keg

This weekend I was handed a brilliant gift, an almost full Heineken Keg. Knowing that gifts like these only come once in a while, I invited some friends over to share in this gift from the heavens. Let me tell you something about these mini kegs. They suck. You have to hold the nozzle down just right or you get tons of foam. Even if you hold down the nozzle just right, you can’t dole out cup after cup of beer, because the damn thing apparently needs a rest period or it gives you more foam.

Don’t Stop Believin’ in Good Music

This weekend was Carissa’s birthday celebration. It started out at Musha. I have been to this place far too many times, but it never disappoints. It’s always as exciting every time they turn off the restaurant lights and the waiters sing happy birthday.

Living Like a Refugee

The past two Sundays I have slept on a mattress on the floor at Kyung’s place so I don’t have to make a 2.5 hour drive to Thousand Oaks for an energy assessment survey. Tonight will hopefully be the last night that I have to do this. The scope of this project is just a lot larger than the customer thought.

It hasn’t been all bad. I’ve gotten a glimpse at the obsessive compulsive life that is Kyung’s once again. It’s no wonder he isn’t done with school. He keeps getting interrupted with dirty dishes and counters that need to be wiped down. Actually, there is very little conversing going on between us. We sit on our computers and listen to whatever strange music he has in his iTunes collection. We had a good laugh when Falco’s “Rock Me Amadeus” came blasting out of the speakers.

Everyone’s in Town!

I’ll start this post by contradicting the title. Everyone is not in town. Michelle went to New York with her girl friends for a weekend trip. I was a free man this weekend. I didn’t shower or change my underwear. Ahh, the good life. I did get a chance meet up with some people that were in town.

Friday, before Michelle left for New York, Jessica came into Torrance to have dinner. She has back from China for a couple weeks. We showed her how cool Torrance had become with Del Amo having a Lucky Strike, Ra Sushi, and a BJ’s on its way in Summer 2008. We tried not to make America sound too cool before she had to go back to the Motherland to put lead into children’s toys.

Another Birthday Weekend

There are lots of birthdays in the December and January months. This weekend was no different. We went out to celebrate Annie’s and Tim’s birthdays. We started out at Barney’s for some good beer and bar food. Afterwards we met up with Tim at the ice skating rink for some broomballing. It’s like being in high school church group all over again. It was a lot of fun, but all of us were bitching about how late we stayed out. We’re all getting older.
